Winter 2022 Newsletter
Message From Your ACHE Regent
Winter 2022
Final greetings to my fellow Iowa ACHE members. This three-year term has gone by in flash, and it is hard to believe this will be my last newsletter. As I looked over the past newsletters, it really hit me how much my colleagues have meant to me under these most difficult times. The pre-pandemic discussions were the challenges of healthcare and the need for systematic changes to how we provide care to those we serve. Little did I know that a few short months later, I would think of those times as the “good old days”! As we faced the uncertainty of this unknown attacker that was moving across the globe, we talked about the importance of staying connected to our colleagues. When our financial lifelines were crushed as we moved into shutdowns, we talked about the importance of staying connected to our colleagues. When costs and supply chain issues strained the very core of our missions, we talked about the importance of staying connected to our colleagues. Now as we face an unimaginable challenge with our workforce, you guessed it, we are going to talk about the importance of staying connected and engaged with your colleagues.
The American College of Healthcare Executives is without a doubt our premiere connector with the best minds around the globe regarding healthcare leadership. There is so much there, right at your fingertips to tap into. I for one fell victim more than once, for failing to access the amazing tools and individuals at my disposal. During the darkest and toughest of times, it was so easy to retreat within our own walls and view our problems at hand as ours alone to shoulder. To solve, to figure out. The ACHE was originated on the foundational idea of being the great connector, to not only the best and brightest, but to the best and brightest ideas and solutions. While the ACHE does have a physical building, what we produce is not something you can hold in your hand. What we produce is something of far greater value. We create the innovative ideas to better care for those around us, we create new leaders, we create the future of healthcare. If you think of it from that perspective, how could you not have a stronger calling to get involved!
Here you will find information about upcoming events and be able to connect with your State Board. Stay involved and stay connected my friends.
